Born and raised on the north side of chicago, i grew up in a very creative household. my father, kunio hagio, was a well known commercial illustrator who specialized in movie posters and editorial illustration. i learned growing up that you can be creative, love what you do, and make a living at it. I saw the ups and downs, the hustle and the downtime. how it was all about the client and giving them what they wanted and also ‘wowing’ them with creativity.
i went on to live in california, first in so-cal where i earned an a.a. in art, then up to san francisco where i lived and played in the local art/design community for a nice 12 year run. i got a scholarship to the academy of art and studied history of advertising and computer art. i also attended sf community college for more digital art classes. moving back to chicago in 2008 to help take care of my grandma, i went back to school full time in 2010 and got a b.a. in graphic design in 2012. i dove into the work force and never want to leave. i’m having a great time!
i’m enthusastic to work with teams or spearhead projects solo. i enjoy solving problems and approach challenges with a ‘can do’ attitude. i can multitask easily and work efficiently. i often think of the big picture, but pay close attention to details at the same time.
